The great wilderness of lake Femund and its belonging Femundsmarka form a hidden Northern European treasure. Having escaped from human activities, this area is one of the last remaining places in Europe to experience untouched nature and wildlife. Thousands of small and big lakes, rivers, friendly mountains and mysterious forests are waiting for you. With 50 years of experience, we wish you..

Welcome to Femund Canoe Camp and your next wildlife adventure!

When choosing your adventure, look for the degree of difficulty and the duration that fits you the best. All our adventures can be delivered as BASIC, PLUS+ or PREMIUM packages, and all our packages include instructions and guidance in preparation for your trip.

Rent only the number of canoes and equipment you need (BASIC package), or let us provide you with all food and equipment for your adventure (PLUS+ package). And why not go for some luxury? Upgrade to our PREMIUM package, enjoy local exclusive treats, sleep on a reindeer skin (for you to keep!) and end your adventure with a hot sauna!

We tailor your trip

When you arrive at Femund Canoe Camp, we will guide you through how you can make the most out of your preferred adventure. All our adventures can be tailored to fit everyone - from families with small children, to those who want to relax, to fishers, to the generally active and long distance coverers, to those seeking extremely demanding challenges. However, we may also advise you to go for one of our other adventures than the one you preferred in the first place. If so, this will usually be based on weather conditions but also details of your wishes, skills and travel company. The Femund Canoe Camp staff consists of experienced canoers and fishers in all age groups, who will know which area will fit you the best, given the ruling weather conditions.

We also offer transport (canoes, equipment, luggage, persons) to any place within ca. 30 minutes drive from our camp.

Safety first

At Femund Canoe Camp, safety comes first in everything we do. The Femund area is at 667m altitude, with sometimes challenging weather conditions. This is usually not a problem, and if you do meet challenging weather, we will have told you prior to your trip how to handle it, both at water and at land. Our very thorough approach prior to all guests’ departures have shaped the proud history of Femund Canoe Camp: In our more than 45 years history of canoeing on these wild waters, we have had no serious accidents.

Before you start on your adventure, you can expect us to spend quite some time going through safety issues and how to handle unexpected events.
