Who We Are

Hi there!

We’re Rick, Karin, and Axel – the family behind Femund Canoe Camp. Our business was founded in 1974 by Bengt Magnusson (Karin’s father) and Morgan Nilsson. Since then, we’ve been based in the same beautiful spot in the small village of Sorken, nestled on the shores of Lake Femund and stretching eastward along the peaceful Sorkelva River.

During the summer season, we’re joined by 3–5 experienced team members with strong backgrounds in outdoor guiding and wilderness tourism.

Over the course of more than 50 years, we’ve built up unique expertise in tailoring unforgettable wilderness experiences for guests from both Norway and abroad – always with safety as our top priority. All our staff are thoroughly trained in this.

In practice, this means we always start with you – your abilities, your preferences, and the current weather and wind conditions. That way, we can ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time on the water.

At Femund Canoe Camp, you won’t just meet Rick, Karin, and Axel – you might also run into old-timer Bengt and our dog Olaf.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!
