Beaver Safari
Quiet Encounters Along the Sorka River
Join us on a peaceful and fascinating Beaver Safari along the beautiful Sorka River, which flows right through our camp at Femund Canoe Camp. This is your chance to explore the hidden world of one of nature’s most impressive engineers.
Along the riverbank, you’ll find two beaver lodges — one of which is currently active. With some patience and a bit of luck, we may spot a beaver gliding through the water or quietly feeding as evening settles in.
Paddling quietly in a canoe offers the best chance to get close to the beaver’s territory without disturbing them. Your guide will share fascinating stories and insights about the beaver’s behavior and its role in the local ecosystem.
We begin the evening at Femund Canoe Camp with a short presentation where we tell you all about the beaver’s habitat and way of life — served with coffee, tea, and cookies to warm the mood before heading out. The safari is suitable for everyone.
Bring your camera and join us as we quietly search for this fascinating animal!
