Meet “the King of the Forest”

We give you an opportunity to observe our biggest land animal in Norway, the moose. Also known as “the King of the Forest”. We introduce you to the moose in a half hour talk with fun facts about his behavior, habitat, diet and more. After which we leave for a 2-hour safari drive through the local area of Femund Engerdal looking for this majestic animal. Our guide, Vilde has a degree in Wildlife Management and Biology and will give you an insight to the moose of Femund Engerdal.

Engerdal has a big population of moose with connection to Østerdalen’s huge wilderness areas. Therefore, the possibility to observe a moose is great, but not a guarantee. Our guides will do their best to find them and give an adventure to remember. Moose are very shy and therefore you can either see them briefly, but also longer if they show curiosity. We will observe them from a respectable distance. 

The safari starts at Femund Canoe Camp and during the drive we will have a break with coffee/tea and cookies. The trip is taking place in a minivan and is suitable for everyone.
