Peaceful Jyltingsmarka

A Hidden Gem for Paddling and Relaxation

Just 7 km east of Femund Canoe Camp lies Jyltingsmarka — a peaceful forest area filled with a network of small, interconnected lakes and narrow rivers. It’s perfect for beginners, families, or anyone seeking a quiet escape in nature.

With short, easy portages (maximum 300 meters), Jyltingsmarka is well-suited for a day trip or multi-day trips without heavy carries — ideal for paddling with children, relaxed fishing, or a weekend under the stars.

Pitch your tent on one of the many small islands or peaceful bays, and paddle freely without the need for a fixed route. This protected area features gentle terrain and calm waters, making it easy to explore — even on windier days.

In summer, the chances are high you'll spot reindeer grazing or moving through the landscape — an unforgettable part of the Jyltingsmarka experience.

For even more adventure, combine your trip with hikes up Sorkvola and Jyltingsvola, or pay a visit to Gutulia National Park.
